ORCA Children's Advocacy Centre Society Board Member Recruitment
ORCA Children's Advocacy Centre Society is seeking board members and other volunteers to help strengthen our non-profit, charitable organization as we move toward establishing the province's first Children's Advocacy Centre. ORCA Children's Advocacy Centre will coordinate support for child and youth victims of physical and/or sexual assault/offences in Greater Victoria through the processes of investigation and prosecution.
Currently, our priority is the recruitment of board candidates with a background and skills in one or more of the following areas: board governance, fundraising, child protection, child and family health, victim advocacy, marketing and accounting.
Board members are expected to support the purposes and mission of ORCA Society and to be available to prepare for and attend:
• 10-12 monthly board meetings per year;
• 1-3 days per year for board development and/or strategic planning;
• Occasional community events in support of ORCA Centre/Society.
